A Whirlwind Weekend in Leeds: Fun, Food, and Fabulous Views
Leeds had always been on my list of must-visit cities, and when the opportunity finally arose, I couldn’t wait to dive into everything this vibrant city had to offer. From bustling shopping streets to sky-high cocktails, Leeds proved to be the perfect destination for a weekend getaway filled with fun and indulgence. Here’s a peek into my two-day adventure in this energetic city.
Day 1: First Impressions & Flavorful Bites
I arrived in Leeds ready to explore, and my first stop was checking into the hotel. It was love at first sight. The room was a perfect blend of cozy and chic. The plush bed promised a good night’s sleep, but first, it was time to hit the city.
The city center was just as lively as I’d imagined, with streets buzzing with people, an array of shops to explore, and that infectious city energy that makes you want to dive right in. After a few hours of wandering, shopping, and soaking in the atmosphere, it was time for dinner at Pizza Punks. Let me tell you, the pizza was a game-changer—loaded with toppings and bursting with flavor. If only the mac and cheese had been as impressive, but hey, the pizza more than made up for it!
After dinner, we made our way to Griffen Bar, where my boyfriend was eager to catch the latest Manchester United game. As the match wound down, we decided to enjoy one last drink at the hotel bar before retreating to our room to unwind with an episode of Killing Eve. A perfect end to our first day.
Day 2: Breakfast Bliss, Rooftop Views & Interactive Fun
Day two kicked off with breakfast at Cosy Club, and let me tell you, this place set the bar high. I ordered the chorizo hash, and it was nothing short of breakfast perfection—rich, flavorful, and the kind of dish that you’ll be dreaming about long after your plate is empty.
Fueled up and ready for more, we spent the morning indulging in a bit more retail therapy before making our way to the Restaurant Bar and Grill. Their beer garden was the ideal spot to sip on something refreshing while soaking up some midday sun. Afterward, we headed back to the hotel for a little downtime. A bottle of Prosecco in hand, I started getting ready for the evening ahead—excited for what was to come.
The evening began at Sky Lounge, and it was nothing short of spectacular. Perched high above the city, we enjoyed incredible panoramic views while sipping on expertly crafted cocktails. It was one of those moments where you can’t help but feel like life is pretty damn good.
Dinner was at Tamatanga, a restaurant that quickly won my heart with its delicious take on Indian street food. The paneer cheese, in particular, was out of this world—soft, rich, and packed with flavor. If you ever find yourself in Leeds, this place is a must-visit.
Our night didn’t end there, though. Next up was Carousel for some interactive darts. Now, I’m no darts champion, but the experience was a blast—laughs, friendly competition, and a great way to end our night on a high note.
Final Morning: A Wingstop Send-Off
The next morning, we packed up our bags, sad to be leaving but excited for our next stop in York. Before hitting the road, though, we made a quick stop at Wingstop for a final feast. It was finger-licking good—crispy, flavorful wings that left us full and satisfied, the perfect farewell to our Leeds adventure.
As we left the city behind, I couldn’t help but smile. Leeds had delivered on every front—great food, fun times, and memories I’ll cherish. Until next time, Leeds!
If you’re looking for a city that has it all, make sure Leeds is on your travel list. You won’t regret it.
